Benjamin Rose Writer, filmmaker & creator of Creatrix
The writer behind the box set
Benjamin Rose. A storyteller’s lifelong inquiry.
Benjamin Rose brings a background in writing, filmmaking and film education to The Creatrix Prophecy. His long exploration of Tarot, Astrology and I Ching grew into an illustrated system of 64 archetypes, with stories that invite readers to explore the cards and their connections.
Writer · Director · Producer · Educator
A life in stories. A continuing search for meaning.
On screen
Film & television.
Ronin Films credits Benjamin’s screenwriting on Australian dramas including G.P., Corelli, Heartlands and Echo Point. His filmography includes On the Edge and Over the Edge, documentaries following young people’s journeys into adulthood.
In print
Spiritual ideas, explored over time.
His official biography describes a decade writing spiritual features for Good Medicine magazine and work with Paul Bailey on Think of an Elephant. In his companion’s introduction, Benjamin explains how that research continued feeding the Creatrix.
In practice
Teaching the craft. Deepening the inquiry.
The same biography records that he created and owned the Sydney Academy of Film and Television (SAFTV) for 15 years, and undertook Vipassana twice. Film education and a personal meditation practice sit alongside the reading and writing behind the oracle.
How Creatrix came to life.
In the companion’s introduction, Benjamin traces the project back to a library discovery and an idea that stayed with him through decades of work. This is the creation story he shares with readers.
1991
The first spark.
Benjamin recalls finding the Theosophical Library above Sydney’s Adyar Bookshop. Its sacred texts drew him further into mythology and divinatory traditions.
1994
Looking for connections.
Months comparing Tarot, I Ching hexagrams and Astrological influences became an early 40-page manuscript exploring their shared themes.
Over the years
A manuscript that kept growing.
The idea travelled with his storytelling career, research, articles, books and meditation. Later revisions developed its Divine Feminine themes and the wider world of the cards.
2024–25
From writing to a physical oracle.
Benjamin describes completing the work in 2024 after further research and consultation. The companion’s First Edition is dated April 2025, bringing the system into the illustrated box set.
The visual storyteller
Artwork by Lars Doerwald.
Lars describes a six-month collaboration with Benjamin, who supplied each card’s name, meanings and initial visual ideas. Lars developed those ideas through his own artistic language, using atmosphere, emotion and expression to help readers meet an archetype before opening the book. Each image became a distinct world within the connected system.
